mr. clean autodry
I've been seeing the Mr. clean autodry car washing system advertised on TV lately.
I'm worried that it will leave some type of film behind.
I'm pretty skeptical, has anyone used it, or know anyone who has?

Better off buying s high quality car wash like Optimum and washing/drying in the shade. Keep the entire car wet while washing until ready to dry and you'll get no spots. Better off for your paint with the higher quality soap and no worry of some harsh chemicals in that Mr. Clean stuff.
I use it on the wife's car and the daily (a black toyota)
If you follow the directions to the letter, it works pretty well.
2 things you've GOT to do though.
1. Rinse the soap with the regular water setting. Then, follow that with the rinse water setting. You'll use a motion like you're spray painting the car, and you'll be able to tell which areas need the final rinse and which don't. There's a visible diffence in the water beading vs. sheeting.
2. Pay attention to the state of the filter. If you use it with a dirty filter, you're asking for nasty spots. There's a filter window where you can check on it. Again, just follow directions. It says it's good for a certain number of washes, and you can MAYBE get away with 1-2 over that.
It's no replacement for hand drying. But I will say, it's nice to not have to dry the cracks and crevices, and it's easier.
