They'll work great but ZFX gives you a little more margin for error and makes it cure faster. The mashocist Zaino purists that leave the Z2 on overnight usually do not use ZFX. It's splitting hairs though. Zaino looks great once you get it on. I doubt anyone could tell the difference in double-blind testing which application used what to get the Zaino shine. (Carnaubas on the other hand seem to have more personality in that regard -- sort of like analog [wax] vs. digital [synthetic], if you will).

As they explain it, you need to use Z1 the first time or use ZFX. After that, Z2 or Z5 alone are fine. I use ZFX the first coat of the season (when not much if any survived winter). After that, I've gone to just using Z2 alone. Works fine and has been drying for me in under an hour.
