need help with buffer
Hi guys, i dont have a porter cable right now but i do have a big dewalt buffer with some pads. i am trying to renew a 2002 celica w/ carbon blue paint but it really looks black until you put ur face close to it. this car is pretty beat, with medium to high scratches and spider webbing, buffer marks (would this be called swirl marks?) etc. the glass has scratches but i dont think i can get that out. I tried buffing it with something called 3m perfect II but it didnt come out good. i need help on how to use it and what products i need.
also i am going to clean a white mr2 spyder that has medium spider webbing i dont think it has swirls. what products should i use here?
now for my car, i have a black s2000, this thing has always atleast 5 coats of zaino on and s100 carnuba topper. detail sprayed always after going out ( with the exception that it didnt rain or get really dirty) garaged kept and car covered. even though i take care of it like this there is scratches that is unpreventable. so this car has very light spider webing i mean its everywhere but only visible when close. what to use on here as well? (if z-pc works for others i may try it)
thanks,
steven

Practice on something you don't care about.

do not learn to polish with that machine is my first tip... you can burn the paint if you are not careful.
get a random orbital- much easier and safer to use... even on your beater car!
if you are experienced, then you would heat up the paint a bit to soften it while polishing.
in any case, i would start with a fine cut on the cars with scratches and then go to the swirl remover after that. your s2000 sounds like you could do a swirl removal alone as it is well taken care of.
