Default Need help from PC pros

So I just bought an IS350, had 10 k miles on it, so "used."

But the dealer touched up a small rock chip on the hood before I took delivery.

The fix is ok, but then the idiot porter must have touched it because it looks like a 1/3 of a fingerprint smeared on.

I want to hit it with the PC, but am afraid to do more damage to it by trying to get that smear out.

I've got the DAS foam pads, orange blue and green. Along with Sonus SFx1 and 2

Would those do the job?

I know there are PC pro's out there that know the answer. Help me out guys.

Thanks

Rule of thumb is to use the least aggressive pad first to see what you are dealing with. If the first pass gives no results, up the pad aggression. In your case, I would start with the orange pad and menzerna ip and run over it a couple applications.

Your car probably is very swirly since it is from a full service dealership..so you might as well do the whole car while you are at it

I'll eventually do the entire car, but its too cold right now. Plus come spring time I have a zaino kit I've yet to use.

just so someone says it...

you could take it back to the dealer (but i wouldnt) - they are likely to either make it worse or cause another problem somewhere else!!

take your time with the procedure- and i couldnt have given better advice than thetz99 did above!

I had the sonus pads Orange, green, and blue for my previous car and they worked great. Blue is the least aggressive and orange is the most so if you are going to try the pad use the Blue first.

However I was thinking you might want to try just using your hand aggressively first assuming you have not tried that yet.

In the case of paint chip blending where you are actually leveling different paint edges, a blue pad is pretty useless as it's more of a finishing pad. A sfx yellow pad is easily 3 times more aggressive than a orange so orange is a good place to start.
