Default need your reccs for mass detail -

I wanted a recommendation for brands for the following products im looking to buy -

fine compound
medium compound
polish
wax

Ill be using a rotary tool for most of this. I'm looking to keep it on a nice budget with not too much cost.
I hear a lot of the meguiars products are the way to go.

please chime in!
PS - its for a berlina black AP1.

Meguiars are a very good brand, you might also try Pinnacle I have had allot of luck with that brand myself.

OK, is this for 1 car or a bunch of vehicles. Your title says one thing but your actual post says something else.

This will aid in recomendations. Also, Honda paint is soft, so keep that in mind.

Black is a tough color but results may depend on how much money you're willing to spend.

Meguiars M105/M205 are good value that would be good to start with.

Menzerna 106ff and 3m ultrafina might be good to add to your arsenal also.
You'd probably be do good with purple wool, orange and white pads

Wax can get really personal but p21s/s100 or collinite are good choices for the money.

You may find these two charts of interest:

Keep in mind that M105 and M205 are pad and pressure dependent. How much they cut depends on the pad that is used and how much pressure is applied and for how long.

Where to begin.

Car wash:
Chemical Guys CWG or CWC are some of the best I have ever used.

Clay:
Almost any will do, but Sonus is My favorite

Clay Lube:
Meguiars Last Touch. I dilute it 50/50 for lube and as a drying aid.
I use it straight for a qd spray.

Glass Cleaner:
Sprayway. 'nuff said.

Tire Dressing:
Tropi-care. one of the best ever. 2 coats of that and your tires will look elegant!

For your convertible top:
303 aerospace!

Interior plastic bits:
1Z cockpit premium,
and if its really dirty, 1Z deep plastic cleaner

leather:
lexol twins will suffice.

engine/wheel well dressing:
meguiars hyperdressing. dilution ratios will determine the amount of gloss.
i dilute it 4:1 (lowest gloss level).

polishes/compounds:
the menzerna line
meguiars 105/205

pads:
foam - DD's uber pads
wool - meguiars twisted wool
and the PFW pads DD sells

wheel cleaners:
p21s wheel gel
megs wheel brightener for super nasty wheels

chrome/polished metal:
p21s polishing soap
autosol
never-dull

wax:
too many too list, and dont forget sealants.
best wax I ever used on Black was Glasur. period.

best sealant ever-werkstat acrylic jett trigger. 2 coats of this tuff, and youll be gleaming. stupid easy to use also.

long term durability-collinite 845. i use it every winter on my dd.

I know you would like to probably order all from one place, but it aint that easy. trust me. I have a lot of stuff, and a lot of brands. anything from $20 wax to wax over $100.

some things are staples though, like glass cleaner, pads and polishes. I have various soaps, etc. Im addicted to detailing supplies
