Default New WeatherShield

Took the advice of board members and picked up a new WeatherShield for my "new" 00 S2K. So far, looks good - water just sheets right off of it. Haven't taken it off yet, when I do I will report on the condition of the car.

1200x1600

Ordered from CarCoverWorld for $200 shipped with bad and lock kit.

I have had the same cover for about a year. Love it! Water resistant (not waterproof) and compact when rolled up in the trunk.

You will get some leaks where the seams are, but it is minimal. Don't expect the car to be bone dry, but MUCH, MUCH better than leaving it exposed.

Do not use seam sealer though, as it voids the warranty.

Enjoy!

Hockey, glad to hear it - thanks! I know for sure that the car will be much cleaner when I take the cover off then it would have been otherwise - but what about waterspots? Since there is some water under the cover, it is enough to cause them? It would suck to have to wash the car just because of waterspots.

Detail spray (Z6, Zymol Detail or Meguiar's Final Inspection) should clean up the few small spots.

i have used my HD version under near hurricane conditions and was impressed with the results. no waterspots after letting it dry for a day in the sun...

now, the only thing i wish was that the HD was as compact as the normal. thing takes up at least half the trunk!

defintely take the cover off after the rain and detail spray the car and dry it (as vrm suggests). make sure the cover is dry before you put it back on. the worst thing that can happen is for water to condense under the cover and then have the cover stick to the car.
getting those spots off is a tough detail problem to fix!
