Default A non-detailer guy needs your help

Ok so my hood and trunk need some love, for some reason they both have started to dull( with the exception of some areas that are still ok). I've waxed my car, not with the expensive stuff just regular meguiars stuff.

It did good and it just seemed like over night the dull took over the trunk and hood. Here are some pics, maybe you can pick it up from the pics, but thats all I have.

Is there any steps I can take to bring back the shine ? Any help would be greatful

Vic

no- you can do this yourself...

polish is your solution- best with a machine. first step is to read the how-tos at the top of the board and then post back questions.
you have "paint haze" and this is just what "paint cleaners" were created to solve. they are the lightest of polishes.
a swirl remover will work too.

Yep just read, some of the stuff on how to use a pc, the only time I used one I burnt by buddies car.

I think I've gained more patients since then so that shouldn't be a problem. I just need more time on the pad and polishes, stuff like that.

Where are you located? You could probably find someone local that is willing to help you with it.. A good detail should bring back the shine.

I would suggest PoorBoy's SSR 2.5 or 3.0 for this one... with a PC orange pad and a patient hand, it should come out in no time

Was it actually a PC that you used? It's virtually impossible to burn through the clear coat with a random orbital polisher like the PC. If you were using a rotary, than it's a different story and can easily burn through the clear if you don't know what you are doing. Using a PC is pretty much fool proof and you can remove the oxidation very easily with one. Good luck.

Also, don't use Poorboy's polishes. They dust like crazy and are hard to work with without a high speed polisher. Just PM me your location and I'll see if I can find someone to come restore the gloss for you.
