Guys i work at a furniture store and we have plenty of MicroFiber swatches that are a pretty good size left over. Would i be able to use those, or does it have to be a "special microfiber." In other words will any microfiber work??

Ubetit -

My post came off more critical upon rereading. It was meant to be more lighthearted. I've used the sheeting method before, but personally find the one-pass with the big blue, well, easier.

shift_9k -

Hard to say what quality your "leftovers" are. The thing about the big blue is the super-absorbency. The waffle-weave creates more surface area and, hence, less wringing out. Some microfibers, normally touted as "lint-free" are generally much less absorbent than most, as well. But insofar as harming the surface, as long as you can tell there is some pile, you should be OK. But why risk it when you can get a top-quality cloth for under $20? What's worse, spending $18 and knowing it's superior quality, or saving a few bucks and getting a few scratches and/or spending more time than you need to?

How does big blue compare to the absorber? I have the absorber, and it works, but it doesn't completely dry the car (leaves water lines). Does big blue not have this problem?

i agree with boiler's analysis... my order of preference (for getting every last little bit of water off the car- from worst to best):

1. absorber
2. chamois
3. big blue micro fiber

As always, everyone has their own opinion! I would use The Absorber over a chamois. BUT, our #1 drying choice would be.... (drum roll)....

The Big Blue micro fiber (applause) !!!!!

Seriously, if you use it, you won't go back. Those who don't use it have never tried it.

Two 100% cotton bath-size terry cloth towels (one for the windows, one for the paint). There's nothing else that I've found to be better.
