Default Pad order use question

I have a fairly deep scratch I need to get rid of and light swirl removal to do. I bought the pc and the pad's, orange, red, white, blue, black, green and yellow, I believe. I have menzerna ultimate polish and final polish. Can you start with orange or do you use something less first? Do you need to wet the pads or use them dry. Should I practice on another car first?
Thanks
Jay

What brand pads are these? Lake Country? If so, I'd stick with orange (light cutting), white (polishing), and black (finishing) with the PC. And since you're using Menzerna polishes, don't wet the pads at all. Use them dry

got a pic of the scratch? can you see primer or metal, or is the bottom of the scratch the same color as the paint?

and agree that we need to know the brand of pads.
btw, stump the wanabe there diabolus2k !! didnt know that menzerna should be used dry. i always do a light mist (usually a pad conditioner type spray) on the dry pads even before menzerna. hey, we all learn something here!!

I hand polished away with the ball polisher and an orange pad all the scuff marks from the car that scratched me. There are some fine lines left you can't feel but can see up close. the rest of the car has light swirls, figure while I am doing the driver's side I might as well do the rest. If I do not have a pad spray will water or detail spray work maybe? What rpm speed setting 1-6?

Thanks

Spread the polish with the machine off, then spread with the machine at 3. Work the polish in at 5-6, whichever you're more comfortable with.

Detail spray will work fine to prime the pad.

I didn't know either until recently, wanabe. It was something I learned from a couple of Autopia threads. It's because the lubricants in Menzerna's polishes are wax-based, and as such, do not play well with water/QD on a pad

what size pads are you using? with a pc, the correcting ability of 6.5in lc orange pad is nowhere near as good as the 5.5 and 4in pads. anyways, generally an orange pad and a polish with light-med cut should be enough to correct honda paint. if you're left with some haze, a white pad and a finishing polish should do the trick.
