Default Which pad for polishing...

I went to Pep Boys yesterday to get a new pad for my orbital waxing/buffing machine. The ones that came with it were terry cloth so that's what I was looking for. Then I saw a synthitic wool type pad and a foam pad, so now I'm confused as which to get and I thought I should ask you guys.

Should I get one type for applying the wax and a different type for buffing it off or should I use the same type od pad for both applications?

Thanks,
Warren

I like the foam pad to apply and the microfiber towel to buff out. That's just me, though.

depends on what you are applying...
but i am right on with 4 motto on this one

i use mf bonnets over lambswool for removal and the type of pad for app depends on the product.

First of all what kind of machine did you purchase? and what are you trying to do? (remove swirl marks, remove spider web marks, just polish the paint more?)

Using the wrong pad on the wrong machine will do more damage than good.

Picturepro - I use Optimum products at my shop and they're awesome! Make sure your using the right pads for the product, to cut back on the work time.
With the spray wax... make sure you have at least 4 clean microfiber towels, 2 for application and 2 for removal. Do not apply this in the sun or on hot paint, other wise you'll have problems...course I assume you know that

dont bother buying micro fiber bonnets. just get a MF towel place it under the bonnet to buff and remove. Towels are much cheaper than bonnets and you can use them to clean the spots the bonnet cant get to.
