Default Paint problems, need experienced advice please

So starting about 6 months ago, there is a type of flaw in on my trunk area. Starting from the trunk lid (between soft top and trunk) and spread to my rear fenders. What is it, and how do I remove it? I'm not sure how to explain it.

looks like clear coat damage (the clear coat looks like it is separating from your paint) ... can you push down on the middle of that ridge?

if its bad clear, you need to have the clear stripped and redone. you can do it, but it might be easier to have your body shop handle this.

got wax on the paint? car sits outside?
you want to make sure that this doesnt happen again...

also you want to closely inspect the rest of the paint for this- if its not in other areas, its not too late to prevent it. good wax or synthetic on the paint and car cover = the best way to prevent damage to clear coats. sometimes its just a bad factory clear job and then theres nothing you can do about it, but thats rare.

I just added a few more pictures.

It hasn't been waxed for like 4 months. It does sit outside every day. Disregard the trunk, it was replaced and that's why it looks newer. Its weird because it looks like it's spreading.

It does appear to be a clear coat issue, is this factory paint or has it been repainted?

I believe it is factory, I know there was an undocumented accident from the rear so maybe it could have been repainted.

I'm guessing clay bar would have no effect on this?

correct- if its a clear problem, clay could actually make it worse.

i would take it to a body shop for a 2nd opinion... and they can give you a price.
do you know any good shops in your area?

btw, if the car was in a rear end accident, it is very possible that the trunk was repainted and not clear coated properly...
