I used some plexus yesterday on my gauge cluster and it looks sweet!!! Took off all that damn pollen and finger prints.

I've been doing the Plexus on the gauge cluster thing for a while. Shingles told me he uses a micro-fibre towel to wipe the dust off. I went out to Wal-Mart and picked up 4 towels and boy do these things work. I used on to wipe up the dust and another one to apply the Plexus.

This was a real good tip from Shingles.

I've got microfiber towels from http://www.griotsgarage.com/, they work wonders for a quick wipe of the instrument cluster. They suck up the dust and restore shine without any spray.

Being a new S2K owner, and being new to this level of car care, what is Plexus? I assume that it is a plastic cleaner free of chemicals such as ammonia which might attack the plastic. If I am correct, is it also recommended for the rear window?

Yes, the general consensus is that Plexus is the best to use for the rear window and other plastics.

Buying a can of Plexus is a no-brainer (perhaps Honda should supply a can with every car )

I bought my S2000 secondhand and the rear window was covered in scuff marks from the plastic roofwell.

Having read about Plexus on this web site I bought some and tried it for the first time last week - what a difference . I can actually see through the rear window instead of through a haze.

You have to be a bit of a contortionist to reach all corners of the rear window but it's well worth it.

Tony

P.S. You may want to consider buying a Muzmat for the roof well. Everyone seems to swear by it, although I haven't got around to ordering one myself.

I also got my S2K second hand, with a totally yellowed and scratched window. Used the Meguiers stuff to clean it up and remove most of the scratches, Plexus to keep it clean and nice. But my local dealer (Hayward Honda) agreed to replace the window "As a one time courtesy gesture". Even though I did NOT buy the car there. One telling point with him in the discussion -- I explained I had a Muz mat on order to prevent the problem on the next one, and would be making my own "Miata Roll" as well. That, plus knowing the TSB number, did the trick.
