Porter cable
sonus has velcro backing?? I couldn't tell from all the pics I've seen. I bought my PC from properautocare with the velcro backing and 2 white pads... If sonus pads will work with my backing, I will get a green and black...
Yes they are velcro backed. If you look at the pictures above your post the white is the velcro backing. They increased the size of the backing in version 2 of the Sonus pads which was a good thing.
my three cents- (one more than you wanted!)
dont worry about the maker of the pads at first... just get to know your machine and what it does. after you have burned out the first set of pads, then you will be ready to worry about the details and then get into the pads.

the PC actually isnt that loud... but it does hurt holding it after a while.
Thanks for your 3 cents wanabe, but i already went ahead and bought a set of 2 micro bonnets, a black & a orange sonus pad. I also got some meguires #83 dual action polish... I only had white pads before so I needed to get a finishing pad anyways...

btw, reminder to be sure to dedicate your pads (use each pad only for a specific car).
if you have any pads you dont want to use on your car, use one of them to learn the machine on another car!
Wow... I thought u should dedicate certain pads to certain products.... now I have to dedicate pads to cars too?
Hmm... looks like my old pads will become test pads for other cars... heheheh

I have to say I don't dedicate pads to certain cars and have never heard of that before. It would get mighty expensive doing it that way. I have been using my porter cable for a few years now and have never had any problems moving from vehicle to vehicle. I dedicate the pads to a particular product and sometimes just down to a range of abrasiveness for multiple products. I write on the back of the pad with a sharpie what it is for as I frequently lose the bags I keep them in to breezes or laziness at the end of a long detailing day.
