are there any precautions i should take when using it? i am going to use it in the street, so the washed off product doesn't kill my lawn, and let it travel where ever it will, eventually to a drain i suppose...
thanks

Gunk works great, just take it to the quarter car wash and there won't be any environmental problems.

yod88-
with gunk, be careful with labels and underhood painted areas.
with citrus cleaners, be careful of bees (actually not kidding- i was swarmed last time i used one near a flower bed area!).

my preference, as indicated above, is the citrus cleaners and a brush. spray on, let sit a couple minutes, agitate with a brush and rinse/brush off.
be careful where you spray water- if you are cleaning a car with a distributor, for example, you should cover the distributor to keep moisture out (or the car wont run well, and might not start). with any engine, dont use strong water pressure unless you know exactly where the water is going.

I used Castrol Super Clean for all my cars. It is Not supposed to be used on hot engine, slightly warm engine is okay. I sprayed it on engine bay, waited for 10 minutes then rinse it off with garden hose. The engine bays were cleaned of dust, dirt and grease after finished.

another product that works well is Simple Green Automotive version.....spray down the bay then spray simple green...wait a few minutes...then spray down again...repeat if neccessary...just cover up the known elec. items...and use a brush if necc to get bad spots

^^ the verdict is slightly undecided on Simple Green.

It has been know to be corrosive to Aluminum, FYI

Use Hondabrite (s100). It is the safest.
