It's not a trivial task, but the window can be replaced without replacing your top. But that's only an option if the top is in very good condition.

im finishing up writing a DIY on the cleanest possible rear plastic ever. I used 2 coats exterior and interior of Novus (you really need to put some backbone in this) and followed by a major buff. Then 2 coats exterior and interior of Plexus.

my rear window is brand new

The window is ~US$200. Hardtop Guy (www.hardtopguy.com) carries it.

I believe you can DIY, but it is labor/time intensive. You can search the board. I've seen a couple of DIY's on it.

I recall seeing a zipper, can't it be unzipped and replaced with another one?

There's more to it than that.

If you have a porter cable, the plastic clears up nicely with menzerna ip/yellow pad followed by a lighter cut. A machine is always an easier alternative to hand rubbing.

Always tape around the soft top. Getting to the inside window is easier if you take the passenger seat out...4 quick bolts and it's gone, likely why it's easy to steal.
