Default remove sap from convertible top

the title and description says it all. how do i remove tree sap from my S2K's convertible top without ruining its "waterproofness?" i usually use mayonnaise to remove sap from hands, clothes, etc., but i didn't want to do this unless i can be fairly certain that it won't damage the top in any way. any help appreciated. (and next time i won't park under that tree!)

The top if vinyl, so you wont affect "waterproofness". Just use any cleaner made for vinyl. I use 303 top cleaner and protect it with 303 protectant.

Never really tried this on a vinyl top, but I use WD-40 on paint to take sap off. I think you could try it; spray the WD40 on, rub the sap off with a towel, then follow up with Raggtop, or whatever vinyl top protectant you have.

i had success cleaning in small areas, using really hot water, soaking it, then using soap, then 303 cleaner, then re-rinse.. and a lot of elbow grease

i would not recommend using different products as the mix of chemicals are never a good idea on the soft tops.. they tend to stain and do damage to the vinyl tops after its all dried..
