Default Removing Emblems?

Tried searching, and looked at the FAQ.

Best/Safest way of removing the side and front/rear emblems?

-I know the sides are stuck on with glue, and most likely a combination of a blow dryer, and some goo-gone should do it.

-How about front/back emblems? Just pull them off?

- How do I stick new emblems on, considering they don't have adhesive already?

your new emblems don't have adhesive? kinda strange, but just get some adhesive tape from home depot or an auto parts store.

For removing the emblems, the front and rear are also attached with adhesive so use a blow drier to heat up the glue like you would on the sides. The front and rear are also positioned with two prongs so there are two holes in the bumper and trunk.

A little heat isn't a bad idea, hair dryer will do. Some use fishing line to cut the bond of the adhesive backing, I've also carefully used a flat screw driver with a thin cloth wrapped around it to pry them off. If the adhesive is soft enough that will work for you too as long as you are careful.

The front emblem (and probably the back) is held on with a push through fastener. I removed mine when I had someone wreck my front bumper and I had to replace it. With the front bumper off (pretty easy to do, just a bunch of bolts) use some pliers to pinch in the arms/fins that expand to hold the emblem in place, then push it through. Think of a drywall anchor or an arrow head to get an idea of that it looks like.

Thank you! The reason my emblems don't have adhesive is because I'm following the footsteps of a fellow member, and making custom emblems.

floss and a credit card works as well. i don't recommend using a screw driver unless you're really careful.

I work in the label industry, so I have to deal with adhesive all day. Naptha (lighter fluid for a Zippo) works to melt down the adhesive. Test on an in conspicuous area first. I have used that for years and years on all sorts of surfaces with no problem whatsoever. Use it to take tar off paint from the road as well. DO NOT use ACETATE / Acetone. That WILL for the most part damage paint and everything else it touches.
