Default Removing #'s from Windshield

Ok... I go to the track a lot and when they use the white shoe polish on the windshield, I never cleaned it off. So now the car has been through a few events and I have writing all over my windshield and driver side window.

I was thinking about using maybe windex with a razor or car wash with a razor to take it off but it seems it would take forever.

Anyone have experience with this?

Andre

razors can scratch glass... so be careful if you go that way. i wouldnt unless its really stubborn

try windex (or my fav, try shaving cream!)

you can use a credit card on glass- plastic is softer than glass, so it shouldnt scratch.

Sounds like good ideas.

Now for the shaving cream... do you let it sit for a while before wiping it off?

i usually use the razor blade idea, as long as your using a lubricant on the window it should just scrape it right off with no scratches. if not then i agree with wanabe just use the shaving cream, lol ive done it too! or just a good glass cleaner and let it sit on there for awhile

I would do this kit but I think it's a little over-kill considering I have rock chips all over the windshield... lol.

I'll try the shaving cream with the Credit Card idea and go from there. I want to try to stay away from the razor.

I use my window cleaner (Invisible Glass) and it takes the track numbers right off. I do this the day after though so you might be in a different situation.

Worth a shot though!

If it's water soluable and I'm sure it is, soak a towel and cover your windshield for a couple of hours. Keep the towel wet during this time and hopefully the lettering will wash right off. Easy and worth a try.

It just clears the glass really well and makes it look "new"

LOL you guys are going way overkill with scrapers and shit.

It's just shoe polish! It'll come off with windex. If it's super caked on, use WD40.
