Default S2000 Soft-Top Durability

Hi All,

I am about to sell my BB OEM Hardtop and just wanted to know the durability about the soft-top (because it was never used). How would I keep it looking new without an fades and does anyone know how easily it fades and etc...

Thanks!

All depends on how you care for it. With proper cleaning and protection and no burrs on the frame it should last a number of years.

Ive used several cleaning products but seems the softop will tear at the corners no matter what unless you never fold your top ever

damn, thanks for the tip, so any suggestions to maintain it?

This is my first convertible so I learned the hard way not to fold the top when its wet for example right after a car wash especially on a extremely hot day. Creasing/folding the top when its wet often will leave permanent shiney/'faded lines across the top similiar to ironing shirts n slacks too much lol Secondly I'd put softop patches inside on the common wear n tear areas of the top which will tear with time so why not do some preventative maintanance and patch it up before it starts..
Sounds good! Thank you for the advice!

I just got my s2000 last week and I have no idea where there usual wear spots might be. Is there a guide to show you where the common tear spots are? also what are the patches we use to patch up the top? Thanks in advance!

If you look at my sig I created a thread that has some links to fixing/patching the top. I installed a couple patches on the inside of my top with black sunbrella fabric and fabric glue. It's going on 3 yrs now and so far so good. I did the TSB which smoothes one part of the frame that's sharp as well.

I treat mine with 303 Aerospace protectant. It's a good UV protectant and it also keeps the top looking dark black and new. I think it's done a good job maintaining my top. I usually apply it monthly or every other month. Good stuff.
