With 303 protectant, definitely apply evenly. I used to pull the trigger really soft and get it in blobs which didn't help. Don't be cheap, put it on spray and spray hard and even then wipe and disperse to dry it completely. Don't let any left over drops of protectant so it has a sheen even shiny black coat. And do a final wipe to prevent tun off when it rains or the next time you wash.

My car was 6 years old when i sold it and the top looked like new. I 303'd once a month.

Ive used several cleaning products but seems the softop will tear at the corners no matter what unless you never fold your top ever

I disagree with this regarding the tearing. If you properly de-burr the bars according to the Honda TSB, in my experience the corner tears will not happen. Add a good 303 treatment 2-3 times per year, and the top will last a long, long time.

is there a DIY about de-burring? I'm not sure what the Honda TSB refers too

A TSB is a technical service bulletin. You can Google "soft top TSB site:s2ki.com" even if you don't know what it means (or "Honda TSB" if you want to find out what TSB means):
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/701...t__p__16300010

The top doesn't have to be removed to deburr. Jump to step 8.
