scratches
I made the mistake of taking my car to a hand carwash a few weeks ago. I made the wrong assumption that a hand carwash would be better than taking it to a car wash myself since I was limited on time. Well, as it turns out, I think they were using dirty towels/sponges, because I ended up with scratches on the hood and trunk, and a little bit on the sides. The scratches are not deep (not through clear coat or anything like that), just a little deeper than typical swirl marks and such. My question is, what is a good product/process to get the scratches out? I have a buffer, so I'm assuming I'll need that, I'm just not sure what to use since I've never had to deal with this before! Thanks!
By the way, I have a few zymol products, and they didn't do a thing to remove or hide the scratches.

polishing will be your cure- i will find a good article for you and post it
-------
here is one:
(i think that you might be able to skip the compounding step based on what you posted):
http://properautocare.com/usporcabpol.html
and another good one:

the key to any polish is to really work the product- and to end up working front to back (never in circles)- i prefer to use a machine (porter cable) for this job- to do it right by hand (which i will do on small jobs) takes a lot of work.
another tip is use the least aggressive polish that will get the job done... if your scratches are light, a swirl remover might get them...
finally, since i see that you have a black car- this is the swirl remover that i like:

So guys....the verdict is that the Zymol won't help to remove any swirl then?
Which is the best and safest swirl remover? Would 3M be it then?
So a coat of 3M swirl remover and then another coat of Zymol will do the job then?
