Thumbs up scratches came back?

I got wash&buff at local car wash place. Guy told me 80%~90% scratches will go away. And after week or so, light scratches slowly came back. No its not cause by driving, those scratches were there before.

So here is that I am confuse about, I thought buff = remove scratches etc, is all bs? When I picked up the car it looked really clean n nice. But how Its came back after weeks?

Thanks

You can remove scratches or you can load scratches with fillers. Apparently they used a polish or paint cleaner with scratch filling capability.

Buffing doesn't necessarily mean paint correction. Means they applied a wax etc. with a machine.

Typically those Wash/Wax specials at car washes are a rip off. How long did they have your car for? As mentioned before the wax they used could have had fillers in it. There could also be a possibility that you introduced the new scratches if you did not use the proper wash and drying techniques.

Like everyone said above,

Instead of removing the scratches, they filled them with wax.
