Simoniz vs Zaino
When I bought my WRX a few months ago, the FINANCE guy, wanted to get me to buy the SIMONIZ paint protection. It was like $600 for this one time application, done by the dealership, labor included. They would warranty my paint for like 5 years or something. I didn't buy it. Well with some connection I have, I was able to get some of this stuff. Let's just say at a very reasonable discount. I am sure I can apply it myself. But I was wondering what others thought of it. Has anyone used it? Also I have been using Zaino since I bought my car, can I use this stuff over it. Or just one? What's the deal? Which is best, which is better? Any input appreciated. Thanx
$600 snake oil, sounds like a deal to me (for the seller). You can only buy about 15 years worth of the real deal Zaino for that. Of course we all know that snake oil will last for 5 years or more. I guess that is why all car manufactures offer (NOT) this garbage as a OEM option.
Tell you what....if you live in Austin, I'll Zaino your entire car for $200 bucks.... thats 1/3rd off the Simonize!
Ok, now seriously... Think about it... do you believe ANYTHING (especially a microscopic layer of poop) can withstand the surface of a vehicle for >5< years enduring FRICTION (dust/bugs hitting your car at various speeds), sun, rain, freezing snow, etc?
Hmm.. well, if you do... I have some swamp land to sell you...
Back on earth-- its a ripoff...scam... joke. You WAY over pay... for basically a crap wax job.
HOW many people do you think can REALLY collect on this? What kind of clauses do that have to exclude them from having to pay-- HAVE you drive this car outside of the showroom!?
etc...
Look, if u put peanut butter on yer car, you'd probably be better off... Just buy Zaino (OR-- in reality, any protectant that binds and lasts for 3-6 months, typically a synthetic) and do it right.
Ya spent $30k..now go play with your toy :-)

Thanx for the assuring my decision, guys. When he was showing me the video, cause that's what they do, I wasn't convinved. Afterwards I said no thanx. He was like don't you want to protect that great paint? I said yes and I have used another product called Zaino on my other car and it works great. For $40 worth I got stuff for a full year. He then said but think of the time you save by not having to wax anymore. I said if I don't have time for such things than I must really be an idiot. And he dropped the pitch. However he made me sign a waiver that he showed me the video and I declined. Con artist.
I just look forward to the new and improve Zaino, when I run out of current stock pile.

LOOK HERE!
I used to work at a car dealership, the "Paint Protection" is a total rip-off. ONLY SUCKERS NEED APPLY!!!!
Their "COSTS" is maybe $25 for the $600.00 job they want you to buy! IT is junk.
Take your money and buy a orbital buffer, proper pads and a good wax/polish and learn to use them.
I prefer Zymol mixed w/hot water, wipe-on, let dry, buff-off.
Voila'! Bellissimo!
I have not used Zaino but I am tempted..................
