simple green safe for engine?

Just got back my s2k from the body shop and my s2k's engine looks really dusty. should I used some simple green and then hose it down or buy some engine degreaser? thanks

I would use
Adam's All Purpose Cleaner
Uber Boar's Hair Brush
Adam's In and Out Spray

ive heard that simple green can discolor the aluminum. ive had good luck with engine bright degreaser followed by 303 on the hoses and plastics.

That's some helluva expensive APC!
