Default smoke removal

Is there any good way to get rid of the stench left behind by a previous owner smoking in the car?

Fortunately, I'm just dealing with a hardtop and not a whole car, so hopefully that makes my task a little easier.

Thanks!

It's the OEM hardtop. It looks like some kind of vinyl-like material.

I haven't tried anything yet. I had a recommendation to take it to a detailer, as they should have professional gear.

Is it perforated vinyl or solid? I'd probably try a good APC (1:3 dilution) followed up with some vinyl conditioner (303, Vinylex, etc).

It's pretty solid.

Don't think I need the pros here?

Perhaps I'll give it a shot over the weekend.

For the price, you may want to replace the cabin A/C filter element as well. Even if the smell is mainly in the top, you'd be surprised how much that filter will retain the stink after the fact.

Only the top came from a smoker. I bought the car itself new.
