something for the seals?
Hey guys. Just wondering what you're using on your seals to clean and protect them. Also, unless it was the lighting, my cowl near the windshield wipers looks to be fading too. Any suggestions?
Clean: Megs APC+
Protect: 303 Aerospace
303: "Use on Rubber: Latex, Neoprene, EPDM Seals, weather-stripping, Wet/dry suits, rubber roofs, Vinyl, Hypalon, Urethane Vinyl awnings, clear vinyl, convertible tops, tonneaus, car bras, spa covers, pool covers, inflatable boats and so much more !"

Protecting the windshield cowl: I use Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus. This is the best product I have come across for exterior trim. It dries absolutely clear and lasts for months.
Cleaning the seals: the manual recommends using a windshield cleaner. This is what I use when I want to follow-up with the Shin-Etsu silicone grease--also recommended by our manual. But I only apply the silicone grease in late autumn, in preparation for winter. Other times I use Meguiar's M40 Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner and Conditioner. EPDM rubber is pretty hardy stuff. I even emailed some rubber institute here in the U.S. about the need to protect EPDM seals. My query was forwarded to the Sumitomo Chemical Company in Japan. They wrote back and said that EPDM rubber seals did not need anything to protect or condition it. YMMV.

for seals, I clean with a mild APC then protect with Einszett Gummi Pflege (http://www.autogeek.net/1z-einszett-...are-stick.html).
