I have a set of work mesiter S1s, and I recently noticed a blotching of different colors on the polished/chrome lip area. It looks like a rainbow in the wheel, and it's pretty much covering a larger area of the wheel.

Kind of as if someone poured oil in water, and you notice that 'rainbow' effect. I tried using Mother's with soap, but that did not help .

Any Ideas? Rims are near new, and have always looked perfect until this point. Could it be tire shine causing it?

yes, tire shine can cause that- a paint cleaner that is safe for clear coats (most are) would be my first choice if washing type products fail... if a wheel cleaner isnt getting it (p21s wheel cleaner would be my first "go to" for this problem).

 

I agree with using P21 wheel cleaner. Great product and very safe.
