Default steam cleaner

So this weekend, I'm going to treat my wife and de-louse the kiddy mobile (Honda Odessy). I've kept the interior fairly clean with somewhat regular vacuuming but its never had a real good scrubbing since we bought it three years ago. Since then, there have been countless spills, wet and/or muddy boots, bags of mulch, etc. So I've thought about renting a steam cleaner for the day ($35). Anyone ever use one of these? I could just get out the 303, scrub everything down and then vac it out but was thinking that the steam cleaner may be more effective.

Opinions or experience with one?

I use a small steam cleaner with brushes you can put on the end of the steam wand for cleaning carpets in my S 2000 and my other cars. It is called a "Steam Buggy" and it cost around $60, as I recall. After steaming and brushing a carpet area, I wipe the area down with an old towel -- one that I never use for car washing/drying. It works very well and makes for a fast job -- especially on the S2k with its small interior. Because the steamer uses no detergent (doesn't need it), there is no dirt-attracting detergent residue on the carpets, so they stay cleaner longer.
