Default Underside cleaning

As a confirmed Wacko (got the badge to prove it ) I was wondering if anybody go's to the extreme of cleaning the the underside of their 'S' .If so how do they do it ?

I have recently changed job's and now have to park in what can only be described as a mudpit . The upside is I can now wash and wax every other day but how do I get all the muck off from underneath as I do not have access to a hoist .

One thought was to use an osillating lawn sprinkler ? placed underneath the car for a few minute's ?

What do all you Wacko's think .

I've done the sprinkler thing before, and while it does work well, I don't think one would fit under an S2000. Not any of the ones I have, anyway.

Wanting to clean the underside is not wacko , I clean the underside regularly and even apply wax to the bright bits. I have a garage lift so it makes this job easier.

I would just jack up one side, spray as much as you can with a high pressure nozzle and then repeat on the opposite side. If you put the S on jack stands you could detail the underside in relative safety.

agree with vanishing point that you really need to lift the car to do this right. wash, and blow dry if you can then some spray wax or other protectant is a good idea.

Degreaser, a boars hair wheel brush, a cheap 50cent paint brush, gloves, safety goggles and jack stands. You should be good to go.

with the jack stands idea. better safe than sorry. chemical guys bare bones is a nice spray to use for all the dark bits underside. i takes a while to dry, but will make a nice deep shine. also, you could polish and wax a lot that wax too.

Yes, a good jar of metal polish, some cleaner wax, and I would use megs Hyper dressing 4:1 or Water Based Dressing 1:1 with some elbow grease and patience.

Two words: child labor.

Somewhere I have a couple of pictures of my children detailing(not just cleaning) the undercarriage.
