Default Vinyl / Canvas Top Conditioner

Found at your local Boat/Marine Shop... This stuff does not contain any "Sealers" which are bad for our tops... This is the newest stuff out there and after using it, I'm sold. Looks like I just applied it 4 days later, two of which it rained!

303 is great. It has been discussed on this forum for years!

yeah I was wondering if this is any different that the basic 303 product that everyone has been using, or if this is a new application made by 303 for tops ?

As far as I know, just the basic 303 aerospace protectant for vinyl. Found at most any marine hardware store. Works awesome on the top, seals, dash, etc

^^
Clean the top with your choice of cleaner, dry and then apply the 303 to a foam applicator or cloth and work it evenly into the top. You can apply multiple coats, if needed, then using a clean cloth/MF towel wipe off the excess. Now, stand back and admire the beautiful top on your car.

Actually, make sure you don't do that. Overspray will get all over your windows and your paint. It doesn't hurt anything, but it's kind of a hassle on windows in particular. It streaks badly. Instead, use an applicator of some sort, like VP suggested.

With protectants, and detailing products in general, everybody has their favorite. Kind of like ice cream.

On convertible tops, no, I can't compare the two directly. I've not used 303 on the top. I've used Vinylex, though, which is a similar product to 303. If I had to pick one for the top, I'd go with Raggtopp. It seems to me that it "runs" less in the next rainstorm. With Raggtopp, I can put it on and that's pretty much it. It stays put. With Vinylex, it works, but I have to go back and buff the excess away with a clean, dry microfiber towel. Not a big deal, but you asked for a comparison, so there you have one. Sort of.

In truth, anytime you put any kind of protectant on your top, it's a good idea to buff off the excess. No matter which one you're using.

To SXYS2k: you can usually pick up 303 at a Marine store, the places where they sell boating supplies. Overton's is one, West Marine is another. I haven't looked for it, but I bet Bass Pro Shops also has it.
