Default Warning Update: "Scratch Out" Products....

I have now tried: Eagle 1 Scratch Remover (WORST), Turtle Wax Scratch Remover, and Maguires Scratch Out (LESS WORSE, but still scratches)... They ALL will leave scratches in the clear of your car's paint-- BAD scratches.

I have a Black S2K, so any blemish is very noticble... and all three of those really f*cked up my clear.

The ONLY product which works (and fixed the damage those caused) is "Scratch Out" by "Kit". Comes in a Yellow bottle and is available at Autozone.

I don't believe Z-anything would get the scratches out that the other products produced. It took me literally 3 hours to repair the damaged from them.... buyer bewarned.

I keep a bottle of that stuff (small yellow bottle) in the trunk. Works great! Even does the plastic window too!

Yes!!! Correct..the "Kit" stuff works GREAT.. all others (to date) are too abrasive! I found this out the harrrrd way. Infact, I'm looking for a random orbital buffer to perfect my hood (takes quite a bit of effort and sweat to repair the damage). I'de like to make it perfect, and the "Kit" product would work, but take about 8 hours to do... It also works well on the back plastic, as you suggest.

Thank you! I just made the same error you did - now i have a smal blurry area on one of my fenders that I need to fix. I'll go hunting for the kit stuff asap!

If anyone is having trouble finding the Kit polish, I have always had great results with the 3M Finesse-It. It is available at automotive paint supply stores.

Keep in mind that the Kit stuff is gentle--this means you'll need to spend a LOT of time rubbing the scratches out.... use some pressure, but not too much as to cause scratches from the cloth. Prepare to have a sore arm, and take your time...wipe-clean-verify you are going in the right direction.

btw-- this stuff rocks on hard water spots!
