Default Washing Mitt

Well I think it's time to retire my trusted old wash mitt and am in need of a replacement. Today there seems to be all kinds to choose from, wool, synthetic, micro fiber etc. What do you guys use and like? And where did/ can you get it from? Thanks

I recently bought a Genuine sheepskin mit from pakshak and I love it. Here is a link. It is on the first page.

Go with genuine sheep skin mitts. You can't go wrong. They have the thickest, longest knap of any type of wash mitt. So, they hold the dirt farthest away from your paint. Plus, once you drop the sheep skin in your rinse bucket it will quickly release the dirt into the rinse water. This again helps to keep the dirt away from your paint.

As to where to buy it . . . it doesn't really matter. I've paid from $5 to $15 for a mitt and they all seem to be the same and last the same amount of time. Just go down to Wal-Mart and feel all the genuine sheep skin mitts until you find the softest one. Even within the same brand their is often a difference in softness from mitt to mitt.

I just rinse them out in some water when I'm done. Then I squeeze them dry as much as I can and then lay them on a clean surface to dry. On occasion when they start to look dirty I throw them in the washing machine and then the dryer.

i do the same as mikeyc, except that i hang dry them...

and i replace them about every 8 to 12 mos-
(actually they become "lower car use only" mitts- or wheel mitts before they get trashed)

That's funny. I went and compared all the mits they had on the stands til I had the softest 3 of the lot =). People walking by musta thought I was nuts.
