Default Wax - Effectiveness of Paste vs Liquid

Alright I've got a question for the W&W pro's out there.

Is there a noticeable difference between a liquid wax and a paste wax? I've used both in the past and to the touch it feels as if the paste protects better but is that true?

FWIW I just picked up some NXT 2.0 and I went with the paste.

TIA

-Mike

I personally have never noticed a difference. I use mostly paste waxes, because that's the only way they come, but I have both kinds in my supplies. Liquid is easier to use if applying by machine.

NXT is a synthetic. Top it with a carnuba like S100.

I hope this answers your question

i think that the consensus i get from talking to detailers and from other boards is that the solids have more carnauba content...
in the extreme, carnauba is so solid you cant use it- so the next most pure carnauba would be a solid that you can just barely use--- and so on. the theory is that for it to be liquid, it has to have less carnauba to allow it to be in a liquid form.

carnauba 101 theory class is now concluded, and remember its all about what you like regardless of what theory might say !

So in the case of NXT, a synthetic, it shouldn't really matter if you go liquid or paste right?

in regards to nxt, the consensus is that the paste gets slightly more durability than the liquid. that said, i would probably base my decision on what application method you prefer.

I've found that if I use a liquid, I tend to go through the bottle quicker. I believe for two reasons.
1- applicator tend to soak up some of the liquid
2- tend to be more generous that I probably should with a liquid
For the last two years on my S I've only been using a paste and just find it more rewarding. I guess it's really a mental thing.
