Waxing Aftermarket Wheels
Didnt see a topic for this anywhere so i thought id start it. I just got some SSR GT3 wheels and the shop i got them from said it would be ok to use the same wax on them as i do on the car, which is turtle wax. Is this a very reliable suggestion?

yes, good idea to wax the wheels...
turtle wax wouldnt be my first choice, but if you like it- go for it!
most wheels (such as the stock wheels) are clear-coated. it is important to protect them- also good idea to keep them clean to keep the brake dust from etching them.
btw, nice choice in wheels!!

on the s2000 i am using p21s (carnuba) over zaino (synthetic)- i have used both on the wheels depending on how i feel at the time!
p21s is very easy on/off... zaino is slightly more difficult, but lasts longer.
i also like to hit the wheels with a detailers spray every week or two to keep them clean and protected.
the best way to deal with wheels (when you have the time) is off the car- put the car on jack stands and remove the wheels one at a time and detail them- if you do this, be very careful not to drop them or place them face down on the ground (i put them on cardboard or old carpet to work on the insides).
very time consuming, but really makes a diff with wheels that you can "see through" (see the insides of) like the stockers and like the ssr gt-3s.
post up some pics when you get a chance!

Used the turtle wax and OMG what an amazing difference. Seems that i will have to get one of them refinished due to brake dust corrosion, damn that stuff eats fast.
