Default what to use ?

Hello,

I am in the market to start detailing my baby.
Now that I moved down from NY I can enjoy the warm sunny weather in FL.

I painted my calipers high temp red and might I say it looks veryyy nice and actually matches the interior very well but I dont want to strip the paint from them by putting some strange solvent or liqiud on my calipers.

What do you all suggest I could use that is readily available at the local sears or Autozone ?

Thanks All

1. welcome to our board!!

2. not following your question, but am guessing that you want to wash the wheels?? if so, we have a great thread on that- you wana stay unaggressive if you can, and non-acidic if you can. the non-acidic is mainly so you dont pit the wheel or eat the clearcoat... if you have to go acid, let us know and we can give you tips on how to use it to try to avoid damage. i almost never use acid on wheels- its a very rare problem that i use acids to solve. and only when i am finished with all the non-acid solutions.

p21s for wheels fits that bill... and a good wheel brush.
if you used an epoxy paint on the calipers, you wont have a problem. mine has been on my car for almost 8 years now and looks new.

3. when you detail your car, get some pics and post em up- pm me the thread and i will hook you up with the coveted wacko badge. will make you real !

Thanks !

I just dont want the paint to drip off or somthing like that. I dont care about the stocks too much. As long as it take off brake dust and road grime.

Will get the pics as soon as I get to detailing it
(this weekend is devoted to my hardtop)
