Thumbs up What to use? First profession wax

Hey guys, bought the car almost a year ago and always stored and covered inside, so never used a professional wax and car doesn't have the WET look like i want, and does get a few swirl marks, i hear that Zaino is good... what do u suggest, and also, have u found anything that keeps chrome protected? My RO_JA's are chrome obviously and i can clean them up nice, but not like protect them so any thing that gets on the chrome i have the CLEAN all over again, let me know if there's a "clear coat" type product to keep them protected. Thanks, James

PS i have used just the reg liquid wax, but looking for something better to do on the car since spring is coming!

Here are some pics of it cleaned now, it's nice but big thing is getting a deeper shine, and the CHROME wheels i really want to find something to PROTECT them, so let me know what u guys have found so i can purchase it this week!

Well, if you're not looking to get a machine polisher then I think Zaino is a great option. I like the optical properties of Zaino, especially on light cars that really won't have a 'deep' finish when they're clean (spa yellow, suzuka blue, etc.).

If I was in your shoes I'd stock up on some good micro fiber products first. Polishing/waxing a car with cheap towels and applicators will only give you cheap results. For the shine, I'd get some Klasse AIO and then layer Zaino Z2 or an equivalent sealant on top of that. You can even use a Carnauba wax on top of your sealant if you want to.

EDIT: Forgot to add that you should clay the car first before doing the above.

you might be able to get the look that you are after with a synthetic... good ideas above-
the quality of the paint is improved by polishing... if you want to go that route, you need a machine (one of the best suggestions that i make on this board, based on feedback, is to post up in your local forum that you will supply refreshments and the polish if another member will supply the machine and know how- great way to learn, and make a new friend all at the same time!)
if you want a simple synthetic, my fav is finish first. its a one step product. and as 90crvtec mentions, carnuba over the top (p21s) will make it pop even more-

You can usually protect them with the same polish you use on the paintwork.

Also Poorboys do a wheel wax which I have used with good results
