I picked up my Porter Cable for about $100 at Lowes. It offers multi-speed 2500-6000 OPM, can use various size attachments, and applicators are readily available. It also works well for wood projects. (I have the 7336SP). The PC comes with substantial recommendations from many sources.

The Ebay unit is 2850 OPM and is a massive 10" diameter. Not sure who makes it, what else it is good for, nor anyone who has used it.

like anything, its o.k. to try different stuff...
but when you do you gotta be prepared to be disappointed. when you use what others use you know what to expect.

so it depends on how adverturous you are and how much you can afford to gamble-

i used to be a real gambler... i was one of the first to sandwich carnubas and synthetics. i was told it would never work- but i knew from an accidental experiment that it worked for me. so i kept doing it. buying a machine that others dont like is fine as long as you like it.

again, as long as the cost is not important to you you might find a machine that you like... or the other choice is you can try what most of us use (the pc)-

Use one, then you'll see. Your hands will fatigue quickly and it doesn't have the power to get out swirls.

I had a buffer like this many years ago. Overall they're pretty much useless. I wouldn't even say it saved me any time applying wax.

The attachments are the important thing, PC offers a wide range attachments that give u the best results. These attachments only fit the PC. There is where the diff is.
