Will claying remove wax....or
If I wanted to remove all the wax before washing and applying new wax, will claying do it? If not what will, and what is the easiest way? Also, is it a good idea to remove old wax before applying fresh wax? TIA
Probably the easiest and most effective way to do it would be a Isopropyl Alcohol wipe-down after washing the car.
Depending on the clay's abrasive level, claying might remove some of your wax. Sometime soon I'm going to try using the Sonus Green Clay (light abrasive) with lots of QD to keep it sliding on top of the sealant/wax, but removing the stuck on crud. Anyway, If I could pull that off, it'd save me a bunch of time... Having to reapply AIO, SG, and S100 after a clay just to get the paint smooth is timeconsuming and a pain.

I use a mix of 50% distilled water and 50% IPA... works great for removing wax and polish residue Trending Topics
I always use a 50/50 after polishing to remove any oils or such. You use it ina fashion similar to a spray detailer. IMO, it leaves the surface ultra clean and ready for the sealant to bond properly.
I've found that clay bar may remove the very top layer of the wax, exposing cleaner wax below for further waxing and such. But if you are wanting to remove ALL the wax, you are going to be rubbing quite a while with that clay bar.
