Winter detail!
Well, it was finally warm enough to detail a car today. So far I've been washing my car in the garage with DP 4-in-1 and occasionally throwing on a coat of wax. Today though I did a full detail on my GF's mother's car. She's out of town for the week and she let me borrow it. So, I decided to thank her by detailing it.

The car is a 2005 M-B E320 4Matic. The car was FILTHY inside and out when I got it. TBH, I don't think it's ever been detailed. In fact, there was enough sand in the driver's side foot well to sand the ice on my entire driveway.
The outside had lots of tar and old tree sap too. Then I saw it . . . the dreaded "C" in the paint code. This car had cerami-clear paint.
On the upside this paint was so hard that it didn't really have too many defects. On the downside, this paint was so hard that my conventional polishes couldn't correct what defects there were without a lot of effort. So, here's what I settled on . . .
Outside . . .
wash with DP 4-in-1
clean wheel wells & tires with DP 4-in-1
clean wheels with Megs Wheel Brightener (the wheels were BAD)
clay
polish with Optimum Poli-Seal and an orange Edge pad
tires dressed with Megs Endurance High Gloss
wheel wells dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing (3:1)
chrome polished with Flitz
glass cleaned with NTS7 Glass Cleaner

The outside came out OK, but not quite up to my standards.
Inside . . .
Everything inside got sprayed down liberally with Megs APC (10:1) especially the rugs which were also scrubber vigorously and then extracted with my wet/dry vac
Leather conditioned with Zymol leather conditioner
Rubber/plastic/vinyl protected with DP Interior Surface Protectant
glass cleaned with NTS7 Glass Cleaner
screen and gauge cluster treated with Plexus

Engine bay . . .
Cleaned a couple of REALLY greasy spots with Gunk
Cleaned remainder of engine bay with QD
Protected with Megs Hyper Dressing (3:1)

Hopefully, the car will stay clean enough for her to see it.

If I had known it was going to be so nice today, I would have taken the day off to detail. Looking at the weather forcasts it seems like we will be mostly above 40* for the near future which is a heat wave compared to what we have had lately. I might have to order thos supplies sooner that I thought.
The Benz looks very nice!

Well, I drove the car around the last two days and it's pretty dirty already.
All the snow and ice has been melting since it's now a little warmer. Driving has become a very messy situation.
