Thumbs down YOU HAVE TO GET A PC

Well, I polished, then waxed my car witht he Porter Cable, and the car looks a different color black. It is awesome. I used Liquid glass polish, which is non-abrasive so there are some very slight scratches left, I need some advice for the best polish (one that removes the scratches), but the Porter Cable cuts the time in half and does a 10x better job then I ever did by hand.

I did the Liquid Glass Polish, followed by Maguires glaze, followed by Carnuba wax, then did a once over with Maguires final inspection. I guess because of the polishing I created a static charge becuase POLLEN is super attracted to to my car, but I bought a very nice Microfiber duster and it removes the pollen without scratching (i hope anyway)

anyway ,its the best money I ever spent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Detailer Domain FTW (caution the CCS lake pads are kinda falling apart after the one detail so get other pads

joeyballs- phil can give you details, but menzerna makes some great polishes... sip - super intensive polish followed by PO85RD is a great combo on a black car.

joey,

thanks for the feedback.

unfortunate that you are about the only person with pad failure but that happened. I think we took care of it already.

You were the first one in about 1000's that we sold with a problem.

In fairness, part of the problem may be in the way I pulled the smaller pad off the larger velcro backing plate, I think thats where the problem came from...............

I love the Porter Cable as well!

So far I'm just using it for polishing, but I'm tempted to try it for waxing as well, but just need to find a nice guide first on finding the right sittings to use and what kind of wax is best for using with the PC first.

I like the PC as well, but I want the Flex Tools DA now.

I just used my PC on Friday to apply wax. I used the grey ccs pad with the Einszett HartGlanz wax, PC speed set on 2.

Yeah, if you are using your PC to apply wax, make sure you turn it on its lowest speed; no need to build friction or heat to apply a wax. Also, use a pad with no cut (for Edge 2000 users, this would be the red or white pad).
