Zaino Question
I am planning to Zaino my S this week and had a couple of questions, which were not answered on Zaino's otherwise very informative site:
1. I have the clay-bar but did not Z-7. What, if anything, can I use instead as a lubricant?
2. Are you supposed to use different applicators for Z-1 and Z-2?
3. Are you supposed to wash the applicators after each use?
Thanks.

1- no, you dont have to use a different applicator for each product. since you are only using a small portion of the applicator for z1, when you are done the z1 apply, flip the applicator over and use the other side.
2 - when done - yes do wash them. do it by hand using liquid d/w soap - squeeze it dry as you can, then let air dry for the rest. clothes washer would work, but best if put into a delicates bag and not tossed in the dryer.
3- go to the local c-tire and get a car wash soap. try to find one that does NOT say - shines as cleans, or does not say it has wax in it. just mix up several capfuls into a spray bottle with water, shake and go ahead. OR, you could pour some into a bucket - and sponge on the water and soap mix from the bucket - just keep it wet.
start from the top and work your way down. also, lay down a towel below your work area, in case you drop the bar - otherwise you gotta toss it . .. cause it will pick up all the crap from the driveway or garage floor. even better - tear a bar in half, and use it till its too dirty to use - then grab the other half.
does that help ?

Aaron - you are absolutely correct.
The only concern or issue is that if you use a soap that has a wax in it - there may be a smearing or unsatisfactory result as far as finished appearance goes - because now you have a "foreign" wax material on the zaino - and while washing the car again likely removes most of it - the combination of waxes and zaino have been known to yield less than perfect optical results.
its like using the Meguiars detail spray over Zaino - it mostly works - but users have reported a smeary effect . ..
just trying to keep the users on the shiny side

Aaron, thanks for the info.
Homer2, of course I am still a Leafs fan, although I do feel sorry for the Sens, losing to us 3 years in a row. It was amazing at the Corel Centre for game 6. Actually, Kevin and I were caught on film. Our faces were plastered against the glass in the corner when Mogilny scored the winner. That picture was on the cover of Monday's Star Sports Section. You can see Kevin's full face and half of mine (the other half was blocked by Green's head).
