When I was in CA, I didn't have a front plate on any of my cars for 22 years. I got a fix it ticket back in '85 for it, but never received one since.

What's the standard 'punishment' that goes along with getting caught? Fix it ticket the first time? Fine? Does this ever go on record as something that can affect ur insurance?
from what people say. the fine is normally 10 dollars after u fix it.

No plate on the '04, no plate on the '06. Ticketed twice, once for each car, both while parked at LAX (the airport). $25 dollar fine, no fix-it required.

I got my car a month ago, put a bumper plug on the holes and not planning to put it on. haven't had a problem so far but probably cause my car isn't heavily modded. in my past cars i've been pulled over once, a total of about 8 years driving and 4 cars later.

would it be legal to just mount it on the front grill with some wire ties or would it need to be a certain hight...?I hate the look of it on the front bumper.

Being a college student in a college town, I do everything I can to keep my car faultless. Cops look for any reason to pull kids over at night just to see if they're drunk or on drugs. I got pulled over the second day I got my S because of no front license plate. Obviously, he saw that my car was new, so he told me in a stern voice to stay out of trouble.

i bent my plate to fit the grill of my ap1, only the numbers show... looks pretty good. i only do it cause i dont want to waste my time with cops for a front plate, that and when i go onto the military base it can become a hassle if they are ticketing for everything, i once got a ticket on base for having something hangin from my rear view mirror.
