Default Accident

Hello,

I got into an accident earlier today in my s2k. Had an unfortunate event occur on an on ramp where the old man in a dodge durango did not look over his shoulder and also did not signal when he swerved into my lane. No reason for him to come into my lane as this on ramp has two lanes that turns in to three lanes.

My question to you guys is, what should I ask the body shop to look for in terms of possible issues that this collision might have caused my car? I got hit on the front left fender. (main damage was on the front left fender, just a mark on the front portion of my driver side door/mirror <-- this i believe they will just buff out) hit my rim as well but no dents.

Should I ask them to look at the alignment? axle? Pretty new to this accident business, any advice or input would be great!

Doesn't sound like you got hit to hard which is good. I would definitely have a very competent frame & alignment shop check the car and insure the four wheels and frame are aligned. A glancing blow puts stress on the whole car but especially the complete front end. Have it checked after repairs are made and before you accept it.

Hey Rollo,

Thanks for the input. I also had a question regarding what you had said. So when you say "have it checked after repairs" does that mean I should get the body work done then go to an alignment shop to get the wheel/frame checked for proper alignment?

Thanks!

Once you go through insurance, it's the body shops obligation to take it to get an alignment. Your insurance company should tell you this after the claim has been made and the repairs have been done. If your unsure it's always wise to ask. Hope that's helpful
