Default Head Games?

Now that all the standard bolt ons are done, I want to move on to the head for more power.

Anybody here rocking aftermarket cams/gears/springs/retainers etc.....?

I am looking specifically for proven (as in through your own experience and not mag/web claims) results.

Based on research I am looking at the following setup:

Toda VTEC killer cams
Hytech gears
Ferrera TI valvetrain

Any feedback that would help improve my chi would be great!!!

BTW - Running Amuse R1000, J's Tsuchinoko CAI & J's SS header. NA FTW!!

To run the Vtec killer cams you're going to need high compression pistons at the very least. If you're not looking to build a race engine then I wouldn't recommend these for the street because your car will not idle worth shit....As to what RPM will needed for these to hold an idle I do not know.

Now with that said I have been trying to research these in great depth but it looks that the only way to find out is for someone to try them so be my guest!
My N/A goal as of now seems unrealistic but I'm trying to do the impossible and make power up to 10k rpms at least.....11 would be great but unlikely... biggest advantage for the vtec killer cams is lightening the valve train to allow for higher rpm limits. I'm about to order the toda high comp pistons and some carillo rods for the bottom end.

This much N/A modification is not for the feint of heart and is wayyy hardcore. possibly too much....

Don't waste your money. Either boost it or get a stroker kit and ITBs if you want to stay NA and make decent power. Cams have shown little gains to usually losing power on our cars. The only thing that helps is getting the exhaust side of the head slightly ported, but that's with FI so I'm not sure how much it will help an NA setup.

I have the ITBS on the way. I bought a lot of stuff about a month ago from Vivid that I haven't picked up.

To save on shipping and tax I never went to pick it up because I needed a tune anyway. That's why I am dead set on AZ tuners.

This is a big investment and I want it to be for the right product. At this point I am just going to stick with my feelings on the products I have chosen.

BTW - Looking to hit 13k at the end of my build. Maybe 11k w/ just cams.
