Looking for A+ quality fabricator
I'm looking for a top quality racecar fabricator in the SD area to build a cage for my car. Any recommendations? There must be quite a few...
Well there's Autopower (maybe the biggest in the world?) and a lot of off-road vehicle shops too that could probably do it. Why don't you take it to the guy in Long Beach (Steen?) that did Karner's and Prolene's? You can use the trailer.
edit: If you take it there already stripped, I believe he does it in only a day or two. Karner's cage did an incredible job in his spectacular crash. There wasn't a hint of any bends or cracks, even where it was welded to the body. And he does the NASCAR-style door bars (which is the correct SCCA spec) that will allow you to get in and out a lot easier. Don't know if you've tried getting in and out of my car that has X-style door brace, but it's tight for me.

I was going to say Autopower also. The only thing was that they seem to really be cautious of liability issues when fabricating roll cages.

There's a picture of the strut tower brace they made. To bad I can't find pictures of the cage... it's insane.
