its almost time to change oil..heard i should wait til after 2nd or 3rd before i use synthetic oil.

also which brand does everyone use. heard amsoil was really good.
leaving for vacation and not sure if i should leave my car with old oil for 7 weeks

I am currently using Royal Purple. It made my car's idle run smoother and it warms up quicker.

 

Leave the car with me, j/k I use mobil one

 

If your waiting to go synthetic....just use honda grade or equivelent. Come time to go Syn.... go Mobil ONE.

As far as waiting to go synthetic, probably a good idea as the synthetic may remove some factory additives before you want it to. When you synthetic, I'm a Royal Purple fan, but Mobil One is also good. It just comes down to personal choice. If you're not full-out racing the car it won't make much difference what brand. The difference is in the weight of the oil. I run 10-W30, cause the car never sees freezing temps. Anyways, my two cents. Hope it helps a little.
