Default Racing school?

Anyone know of a racing/driving school in the San Diego or LA area? My friend and I have been looking for one for a while but haven't been able to find anything. If anyone here has any info on some good schools @ good prices, i'd appreciate it =)

Before I got my S2k, I was heavily involved with Alfas, and got my competition license through the SoCal Alfa Owners Club. They run track events all year, open to all cars. The events are well-run, lots of fun, and VERY reasonable compared to other groups. The people are the best, lots of friends there. Here are their events coming up, including the driving school - they just had one last weekend, too bad you missed out on that one.

Mar 31/Apr 1 Time Trials & Race, Buttonwillow
Sep 1, 2 High Performance Driving School, Streets of Willow
Oct 13, 14 Time Trials & Race, Willow Springs

Here is a link to the website, all links are on the left side under 'competition'.

Need to be more specific about what you are interested in. If you have a full race car (cage and all safety gear) and want to actually race it, then SCCA and NASA has schools for that. I suppose the alfa club and BMW club, maybe others, also offer racing schools. If you are willing to travel, then Skip Barber and Russell at Infineon and Laguna are really the most comprehensive.

If you just want to drive your car on a racetrack, do time trials etc. but not wheel-to-wheel racing, then there are lots of clubs like Speed Ventures, Redline, Alfa club etc. that provide that, as well as basic instruction (in car and classroom) for novices.

Any racing school taht doesn't require full race mods...i don't intend on putting any roll cages or harnesses in my car =) so i guess anything that's pretty much for the enthusiast that wants some basic racing training under his belt =)

thx for the info guys.

Then the first level class "Street Performance" in the Alfa Club's driving school would work for you. All you need is a helmet, gloves and your car to pass tech inspection. The time trial class requires 5-point belts and some other safety items.

Nasaproracing.com is where you want to go. If you want to get serious about racing, regional nasa schools and spec series is the best introduction you can get. For a weekend, they're about $350.
