Rain water for the win. Besides, what's the point of having expensive tires if you don't use them!

I do use them...just not in the rain. Waiting for the rain to stop and some free time from work so I can go canyon carving out in Jamul/Palomar Mtn.

If you ain't outta control, you ain't in control.

No but seriously. Nick. Guess that's what I get for posting when I haven't slept for the whole weekend. I say silly things.

My thoughts are just that you don't tear up your tires in the rain, and grip runs is still fooling around.

Ah **** who am I kidding. I need to sleep some more.

If you know what your doing, you HAVE control of your car when drifting... you just have to know your cars capabilities and the conditions of the road, oh, and watch Initial D for a week straight j/k. However, this is only like the 4th time i've drifted the S. It has a whole hell of a lot more power than my FC had. Still takin me some gettin used to. Drifting is one of the reasons I wanted another rear wheel drive car. Its so fun! My friends and I back home spent hours a day practicing. I have no grip run skills at all haha and i don't mind tearin up the tires when it rains every six months

^^ Isn't drifting harder than grip running?

The reason you have no skills in grip running is because you don't practice. To get good at something you have to practice practice practice. You can't seriously tell me that you were good at drifting right off bat without any practice. You just stated yourself that when you were back home, you and your friends used to practice for several hours a day. I think that you have no interest in grip running and lots of interest in drifting...That is why you chose the drifting path(plus the added benefit of you running -4.5 degrees camber in the rear makes it much easier for you to break traction).

I have tried drifting as well but found out all too soon that the S is not built for drifting. The only thing in common that the S has with a good platform for a drift car is that it is rwd. Even the Formula D drift S2000's were extensively reworked to work as a drift car.

There are multiple things that need to have reworked..a steering rack that turns in more, a diff that is built to withstand the forces of drifting, smooth power delivered motor(have the vtec engage at around 3500-4000rpm) are just 3 off the top of my head. I know I know, I over-research things but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
