thats what i am saying. but i guess if u "feel a connection" to san diego u get a badge. but a few of the other forums just dont hand them out. ive been PM'ing CO's and what not and they are selective. welcome to sunny san diego

I guess I'm unclear then on just what the consensus considers the "purpose" of the badge to be. Please enlighten me.

san diego forums created for the san diego community. badges should go to san diego members and those who have attented san diego events. at least that what a few people mentioned at one of our random evening meets. you are the CO so do as u please i guess. nothing we say will change it. btw u are a great CO. so dont get me wrong or anything. its just one thing that bugs some of us.

No, I'm not that kind of CO. I really want to hear whether people think the badges should be restricted and if so, what restrictions. I heard you say three things.

1. Live in San Diego (how close? does Temecula count? what if you move away?)
2. Be a member (not a guest?)
3. Attend a San Diego event (how many and how recently?)

Any other thoughts?

I think it should be restricted to #1 and #3. I think the person should have attended a few events, enough to make a connection with the SD crew.

I have seen a few badges handed out to certain members that shouldn't even been considered for one.

BTW Ron and Tim, you guys rock as CO's. We have more meets and events than any other group on S2ki.

Any other thoughts? I'm still looking for what the "purpose" of restricting the badges should be, not just the qualifications of who should get one. Are we trying to create an exclusive club for bragging rights and the envy of non-members? Are we trying to promote s2ki membership? Are we trying to encourage new people to participate?
