Default wheel & tire track set up

So I have gotten the itch for the track. Went to autoclub speedway and did the inner course and had a BLAST Am going back Aug 15 this time doing the "roval course". And just bought the GoPro camera so looking forward to using it. Here's what I need input on.

O.K., so I have a set of AP2-V2 that I currently have on the S w/ Hankook Ventus HRII 215/45 and RE-01R 255-40.

I also have a set of AP1. The front tires need to be replaced but the rears have RE050-A and pretty new (90%).

So heres what I need help on. Which set should I make my dedicated track set up? 16's of 17's? Is there a benifit of running a wide aspect ratio on the track set or stay put w/ the OEM size? I am new to the track so I am still learning.

Also on an visual note, which ever set I go w/ I am going to want to get powder coated. I dont know wether to do white. Or flat / gloss black. Anyone know where I can get them done? Im in O'side.

Thanks for any help

What organization did you run with? I just put a post up as im getting ready for my maiden track voyage. From everything ive researched the ap1 wheel is better. The ap2 wheels allow for big brake kits, but unless your going that route the ap1 wheels seem to be the proper choice. The ap1s are only slightly smaller in width, but also lighter. That and the tires are significanltly cheaper for 16's. Let me know where you plan on racing next. Also make sure you research the proper tire size for ap1 wheels, as the factory "spec" is not correct.
